**** mang...I'm looking at it, and I'm still baffled. You need to get out to a 1/4 mile track and see what you can do. It looks like you're getting no traction whatsoever, but have lots of power. Maybe there was something wrong with the timing equiptment for that race too. Did you do more runs that day? What trap speeds did you get on other runs?

my tires were pretty much bald, all of my other runs i was dumping it at about 4500rpm, i'd peel out a bit and then catch, then peel out again a bit in 2nd then catch again. i uaually got 66mph runs at 10.6-10.8. i THINK this is the run where i actually launched like i do on the street, more around 3500-4000, and i shifted at 6000rpm in every gear. every other run i would redline 1st and finish redlining in 2nd. this run i was in 3rd gear at the end.
i know it isnt a computer error because according to my other slips my car was doing 0-60 in like 10 seconds, and thats a load of bs. i really want to get back to a track and see how this all pan's out.Serenity's Dead.

Also, don't drop the clutch. That's drag tire technique. Rev to 4500 and feather the clutch, keeping the wheels on the edge of traction. You want to keep the revs up where peak torque is when you launch, but you want to maintain traction too. Shift at 7300 too......

I still think the equipment malfunctioned for that particular run. I don't see how you could be 10mph faster over the same period of time than your other runs.
Also, shifting at 6000 is not a good idea. Always shift as high as possible as you can, even if you think you're past your 'peak power'. You always make more power in a lower gear than in a higher gear, which is something people seem to always forget......example: (I'll use my peak hp figures)

My car makes 108hp at 7400RPM, which is still good for 1466hp on the road in first gear. Which is still 60% than peak in second gear. My car makes more power at the road at 3500RPM(70whp) than peak in second gear.
If I shifted at 6000RPM, where I get 114whp or 1547 road hp, it would drop down to 4000RPM in second, where I'm getting 80whp, it would only be 602 road hp.
I've talked about how just leaving it in gear longer keeps revs up for more power before, but along with this, I hope it kills that myth that you should shift at 'peak power'.......run it to fuel cut...every time....

I've hit the rev limiter plenty of times, and have never had an issue with it. It does slow you down for a fraction of a second though. Since I installed my RX7 AFM, my cars rev limit was somehow raised to 7400. Originally, the tach said 7600, but the dyno said 7400, so I went with that. But since I've done some better grounding, the tach is more accurate and reads 7400 at fuel cut.

the added down force and aerodynamic wind resistance will have more of an effect on a vehicles accleration on a longer run if you compare a 1/4mile run to a 1/8th mile run.
math adds up numbers but doesnt take in to effect other variations while racing.track temps,traction,wind etc, all have more of an effect the farther you have to drivestraight roads are for fast cars, Turns and Curves are for fast drivers
