At this point I'm too far in to not find out if it can be done, but I also have a 93 mx6 seal kit that just arrived at napa to hopefully fix up my siezed caliper. So one of these plans will work. If it comes down to it, all I have to do is prove that I have a working caliper to the garage and once the car is properly registered I can find a much more permanent solution.

I've had luck with simply cleaning out the inside of the caliper, cleaning the piston real well (non abrasive stuff) and reassembling the caliper. It's what I do to all used calipers when I first buy a used car. None of them leak fyi.-Jack

the mx6 caliper is the exact same as the probe one you already have. so if the probe one is too small. that rebuild kit for the mx6 one will be also.
and the 03-05 mazda6 brakes clear 15in wheels just fine. the 06+ ones need a 16 inch wheel to clear. and the mazdaspeed6 set up needs a 17inch wheel to clear.~PaTricK~

Okay well I can't actually get the piston out of the caliper housing to even start that. Also, Mazda6 brake calipers do not fit in 15" rims in case anyone was wondering.
Back to the drawing board with these P5 breaks, hopefully I can do something with them. Not looking good for having this rolling by Monday...

Not all 15" rims are the same, just because they fit a 15" tire doesn't mean the inside of the wheel is the same diameter. This, and the calipers aren't made for the GTR, they may sit slightly further from the hub than they would on a 6 with the way they are bolted up.sigpic

id say those are probably not the 03-05 set up by looking at them. you can see how much room i have on my 15's, and his are shoved right against the wheel. either that, or that wheel is just insanely thick.~PaTricK~

I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but EBC does make front and rear pads for the GTR... Go on ebay and they come from overseas. They have regular old replacement pads and then they have "green-stuff". If you for what ever reason can't get porterfield to make you a set, there is always the EBC option on ebayTyler has spoken
