"Lip" on brake pads

    "Lip" on brake pads

    I took a look at my brakes today and I noticed that on both the driver and passenger side front brakes, both sets of brake pads have a "lip" on top of them. It looks like the rotor does not touch this part of the pad and so they haven't worn down like the rest of the pad.

    Is this normal or should I switch out the pads for something else? I have no idea when the pads were last changed, what brand they are, etc.

    98 Subaru Legacy GT-DD: 1 inch lift, and all the standard N/A stuff.

          Yes... i had the exact same problem... Autozone guys looked at me like I was crazy... I think because i have lifetime warranty. Maybe they thought I was tryin to jip 'em... at least i know it's normal now...

              oh did you get a wierd grinding/rubing noise too? maybe because of that?? it annoyed me a lot, thas what got me to change my brakes (maybe a lil early)... can someone 2nd that notion?
