    Where to get dropped springs?

New to the forums and new to the 1st gen. Anyway, the sticky is gone so can anyone tell me where is a good place to get some drop springs for this `90 Pro? Just going for looks and a little bit of function. It's for my girl's ride and it never leaves town. Although illegal, I thought about cutting down the springs. But if I can find some for a decent price, I'd much rather go that route. Its just a commuter but she decided she wants to customize it after being inspired with this forum.

Cutting springs is dangerous, a bad idea overall.

Ebay has plenty of cheap springs for the BG.

yea if your gonna cheap out, just get some ebay springs. I had ST springs on my car for a while, they were cheap on ebay. Weren't to bad either, a little bouncy but not bad for a cheap spring.

If you wanna spend a little more cash, check out eibach's.

I bought CM Springs off Ebay for $130 shipped, they aren't bouncy and the ride isn't bad, I'm impressed for the price I paid.

        Good Luck

na cutting springs isnt that bad, i did this to my 91 pro pro and the car still road perfect, i just installed some clips at the bottom and top of each coil to keep them in there place. but im still going to order some sprint lowering coils and new struts, just need to find a site that sells them....lol

Cutting springs is a half ass and ghetto way to lower a car.

It is dangerous because the upper spring perch will not fit on top of the spring correctly after the spring is cut.

If you are looking for Sprint Springs, they can be purchased at :

i would go with ingalls either one will work i trust ingalls more. drop it first ive heard from alot of people that drops on bg's dont really throw off the camber much like 1 or 2 100's

dont buy thtre camber kit till you need it, the 1st gen pro and escort the way its set up the wheels down change camber, bout all it might do is change toe in and out. but usually it dosent really affect the alignment

What springs did you decide on?

                              What struts are you using?

BG chassis cars have McPherson struts. When you lower a vehcile with this suspension design, camber is barely effected, unlike Hondas for example, because the have SLA type suspension.

Basically, a camber kit is unnecessary if all that you are trying to do is correct your camber once you have lowered your car. Most BG'ers install a camber kit/crash bolts to achieve more negative camber to further improve handling.

My BG is lowered more than 4" and the last time I did an alignment, my camber was still in spec.
The only thing that was effected was toe. I would recommend a four wheel alignment be done after lowering any vehicle.
