Koni Sport strut inserts info and dyno

    Hello
Thought this might be interesting to read:

They dynoed the d2 coilovers and koni inserts and there are graphs etc.
Maybe helpful to someone who is gonna be investing some money into suspension.
I wanted to post in that forum about the KW and Weitec question that they both use koni struts in their coilover kits and so i guess they might be better than d2 coilovers.
    Happy reading.

i remember seeing this dyno before, somewhere...

to add to the discussion which i am sure is going to ensue... the ksport coilovers that Josh_lx put on his escort blew out after like 2k miles (the fronts did anyway).

Well my brother drives a Impreza MY2000 and has d2 on his car and he has had problems with them also. The struts aint working rignt and he isnt driving his car rough like i do.
Im using mx6 GC on my car and my koni struts are currently being shortened and i decided of this setup before i saw this thread. Hope that my suspension setup will be good.

so, has anybody ever done the inserts yet? people have talked about it, but never seen someone do it, and personally heard from them how hard it is.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

Its not hard. You can do it at home with basic tools. I have a series of pictures with finnish instructions. Ill scan it and post it here later.

          Edit:

just follow the numbers on the pic and you can understand exactly how to install them.

I have some koni's on order. They were backordered for a few months... I have the rears in hand but not fronts yet.

            I will do a how-to once I get them.

I notice on some of the pictures that it looks like it requires original manufacturers struts setup. I get the impression that you modify the strut casing by ripping the guts out, so you can use the outer casing for the inserts.... Like a 280zx, huh... except that car was made to use inserts...

My friend has been running KSports on his Nissan for 7-8 months without any issues, and our roads haven't been fixed in at least 2 years so they see plenty of abuse.

Darrell had the inserts, i don't think he did them himself though.
