Does the MX-3 5-speed transmission from the V6 1.8 model, be the same as the Escort GT, Protege LX?

I ask as I found one with low miles, but man the owner of the junkyard wants 400.00 for it, let me see if we can work out a deal.

The rx7 alternator does not fit, the bottom bolt that attaches the swivel point to the block is backwards on the RX7, (I have an rx7 and a Protege for reference) On the protege the bolt goes in from behind and the threaded portion its on the front(pulley) side of the ALT, on the rx7 the bolt goes fromt he front(pulley side) to the threaded portion in the rear.

So if there is a revision to be made you could say this:

The alternators are almost the same besides that, the only other difference is one of the plugs is in a different spot but it will still be ok.

What you could do, is take them both apart and swap the guts, that would more than likely work fine.

But for someone looking to do a quick upgrade it will not work.

I have pictures of a brand new 89 RV7 alternator if you need them for reference just PM me
Just put the bolt in the other way? I have a 90amp mx3 alternator, I'm going to do that to make it work.

dont forget to get a different bolt for the adjuster.
I did the same and also used a longer belt. Just one size up i believe it was..
Cant remember the number off hand.

1992-1998 Ford Crown Victoria uses 1600cc top-feed injectors. The feed has a larger o-ring that needs to be replaced with a stock Mazda B engine O-ring, and the neck needs a shaving of about 1/32" to fit in my upgraded Vishnu fuel rail. I haven't tried the stock BP fuel rail but I will later today.

It'll cost $85 taxed for local flow testing + rebuild, which saveme ohhhh about $480 from buying new RC Engineering 1600cc injectors. That's money going elsewhere into the build :D

^ with what motor? 8 1600cc injectors seems outrageous for an NA use
how well do they sit in the BP head???

4.6L V8. All models, including the police interceptors, used the same injectors because some were running on CNG (compressed natural gas) and needed the extra headroom. I pulled 3 sets of 4, 3 different years, but one set only had ~250 000km on them. I could always head back and get the other four, the other set had ~500 000km on them, and the 2000 use a different body (Ford switched from Bosch to Delphi). I'll be working on them tonight and I'll make a detailed how-to thread later.

you could probably get something if you found a CNG vehicle in a yard somewhere. gas companies use them because they have it available already and its cheaper for them.
