    2nd gen brakes on a 1st gen?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew if the bigger front disc and rear disk setup from a 96 pro lx would work on a 1st gen? It looks like it should by eye, but I'd like to know for sure before I start pulling parts off at the junkyard.

I forgot to check the number on the caliper, but I thought they were supposed to be the bigger ones for the 14" wheels, I know it has rear discs though.

the 96 brakes are going to be no larger than the 90-94 10" brakes... and you know for sure that those will bolt up. i'm assuming you have the 9" front brakes on your 1st gen...?

oh i see you are in canada...

look for the 10" brakes on the front of a 91+ escort. those spindles will bolt right up, just make sure you buy ball joints for the year escort they came from. 91-96 escort = 90-92.5 pro, 97+ escort = 92.5-94 pro... as far as ball joints go.

Good to know about the escort 10" fitting for sure, but it would be nice to be able to use the rear discs off the pro lx before they crush it
