Strut shaft question (BG vs 626/mx6)

Wondering if anyone know if the strut shaft diameter is the same? Same with the strut housing? 93-97 626/MX6

I'm getting cheap-o coilover sleeves for a BG. I want to source out my own springs and rates once summer hits.

Any help would be great

MX6 shaft diameter is the same as escort 3rd gen, at least in the front.

What strut housing? What car is it going on? Not clear on what you want to do.

In the front, I have MX6 struts with Escort 3rd gen perches and mounts, cut Eibach springs... GTR spindles FTW.

I'm trying to make my own coilover kit with custom rates for my 93 Mazda 626 V6. A friend has a coilover sleeve kit for the BG, and he's willing to let it go cheap. I can get 2.5" springs with custom rates for around $40 a piece.

^ why did you cut your eibach springs???

Because the MX6 struts have the spring seats slightly higher on the body and even with shorter eibach springs (2" shorter than stock), the springs were so compressed that the car was sitting at max height. So I just cut a coil off and now it sits ok.

It was much simpler with full coilovers (k sports) but the ride was too harsh and I didn't like it at all.
