    Adding MX-3 DNA

I have a 1994 MX-3 V6 GS rear sub-frame that I am going to put onto my 1994 Mazda 323. The MX-3 sub-frame looks like it was bolted to the rusty end of the titanic. The lateral links are nasty looking and the bushings are cooked. Altrom sells inexpensive new MX-3 trailing arms complete. They also sell new inexpensive 323 lateral links complete. My questions:
Can I use the MX-3 rear sub frame (22)
    with MX-3 trailing arms(21)
MX-3 disc brake hubs, but use 323 lateral links?? (16) & (17)This way everything is new, cheap and easy???

well the mx-3 lateral links is what adds the extra 30mm width (15mm per side) so if you were to change them for your 323, then your front end wouldn't match up with the rear.

The center subframe is the same as every 323/protege/escort.
Trailing arms are all the same 323/protege/escort/mx3
Rear disk brake spindles are the same for all BG/EC rear disk brakes

any questions, shoot me a PM

    JACK.

don't forget to swap (20) over, its the rear tie bar. came exclusively on mx-3 GS models. swap that over for a little more rigidity.

Won't putting those lateral links on cause some serious camber/caster?

Some negative camber will be introduced, yes. Caster should remain the same as both links are the same length and don't change the angle of the strut front to back.

the negative camber will only increase into a more suitable range

here you go, the part number is on the box. you'll need 4 boxes. 1 per lateral link.

                        Hey Jack

That's great! For the record Energy Suspension Part #9.9108R are red and 9.9108G are black.
(I sell Energy Suspension at my store). For people reading this in the future, these bushings are for MX-3 GS lateral links.

                        Questions:
So the bushings had to be trimmed down a 1/4 of an inch then? Did you just cut them down with a hacksaw?? Were the sleeves that go thought the bushings the right size for the stock suspension bolts?

                        Thanks for all your help!

i used a belt sander to sand them down lol. i just trimmed one of the 2...made it easier. then once you have one finished, you can properly trim the others to the same height

don't forget to groove the inside of the bushings where the sleeve sits, this will allow you to grease them as well.

                            Hey Jack

Did you use the sleeves from the bushing box(s) or the original MaZda ones? (the part the bolt goes through). Belt sander eh? My dad has one of those. He he he (evil laugh).

                            Thanks Jason

i dont know if those ES bushings will work on mx3 links. the bushing holes in the mx3 links are larger.
