    Hypothetically......

If I wanted 300/250 springs with a 2" lift what would be the cheapest way to achive that? The springs I imagine I could probably find, but I don't know what to do for a longer travel strut. Forester maybe?

That is only springs on my GTX rally car. The struts are rally struts but the travel is identical to the stock ones. It may be achievable with taller springs.

what's your current suspension setup? coilover sleeves? You can easily get used replacements, for around $100 for all 4 corners. Then just get some tall springs, 12" front and 14" rear.

If you don't have a sleeve kit, get a cheap ebay set to use the collars/lock rings and hardware.

that's what I'm doing lol, well I'm going lower instead of higher lol

        Stock springs with Tokiko SRs.

Never had coilovers. I've asked some companies if their kits made for BGs can be raised above stock and they have all said no. I don't know enough about them to know what it would take to do it.

Yea, typically coilover sleeve kits come with 6" 300-450 fronts, and 7" 200-350 rears, so they're fairly short springs. At full height I'd imagine it's still lowered roughly 1.5"

Thinking about it now, I would recommend 10" fronts and 12" rears, and you might not have to modify the spring perches then.

So the springs make all the difference? I should use stock struts with whatever perch works then.

exactly, it's the springs on a coilover setup that will make it what you want. Hell I'm not even done with my setup yet, I still want to replace the springs with 8" springs front/rear with a 250/200 spring rate once my kidneys get enough of the current setup lol.

If your stock struts are still solid, they should last a while still considering you're not lowering the vehicle, you're raising it lol.

300/200 should be great for your AWD BG tho.

My suggestion is to raise the car with a car jack where you'd like it to rest for ride height, then measure how tall the springs are...you'll be suprised how tall they'll be. I'm going to guess 9" since installed height is around 11ish.

Cool. So a 10" spring is 10" free length, right? Then it would be 8" or 9" once installed and loaded.

Thanks for all this information. You have been most helpful.

yep, 10" would be the free length when purchasing them, and would compress a bit once the cars weight is settled. So ya 8-9" sounds about right man. I know with my stiffer springs it didn't even compress 1/2" lol.
