I'm not passing judgement, but there aren't any mx3 GS's in this region that I've ever seen. So, nowhere for me to go to take measurements or get the bits to test out around here.

D323, You've got the LX axles in the GS spindles; Do you also have the GS crossmember and Lower Control Arms?

Front right passenger side of my GS. The nut is not completely torqued down, but it is snug.

I basically took a GS, ripped out the motor/tranny/axles and other small hoses/brackets that had to be changed, and bolted the BPt in place. The GS LCA's and other suspension/steering items remain. I even kept the GS PS rack for the quicker ratio.

In the back, the tranny comes really close to the drivers side LCA, but its nothing that has me worried.

That's nice...I'd just go and do it. Measurements are good, but trial/error is better IMO. Pressures you to make things work.

            Yes, positively.

Front & rear are 30mm wider than Protegé/323.

i have a 93 pro LX DOHC and im in the process of this upgrade now - i cant have my daily driver down during the week - so is this a weekend job - sounds like it - just want to confirm. im looking to maybe replace the whole subframe assembly with hubs (if possible) - what CANT be swapped out?

and what was that about comment about the torque not being completely tight, but 'snug'?? cant afford snug things - is snug even safe?

im going to be buying parts this week - any help would be greatly appreciated

              thanks

Can't really change the tranny placement much, though, because it's bolted to the engine, which is bolted to the passenger side inner fender mount.

Too bad it wasn't just deeper spindles, that would be a nice bolt-on bit with no bothersome drivetrain mods....

I'll have to just deal with the front as it is. I am working on getting a better rack, though, when I've got the time.

Of course, if my pipe-dream of getting a nice Getrag 6-speed box in there ever comes to fruition, it's going to be a whole lot more custom anyway, so the wider bits will come in handy, then.

I know this comment was a while back, but if you really wanted to do the MX3 subframe you could use V6 Axles, they're designed to be the correct length and have the same spline pattern. And I'm sure you could get any number of people to buy your current axle/intermediate shaft (including me, lol).
