    DIY Coilovers

I feel like this should be a sticky
Ive been stalking a few threads but i could not find an exact parts list of what i need.

I am a Ksport distributor and the cost of them ARE UNREAL. So unreal I won't even purchase them at cost. This car is my daily and my 240 is my fun car, Im looking to buy an FRS very soon, but I only paid 150 bucks for this car so i'd like to have some fun with it.
If someone could post all the necessary parts that would be great, i just wanna get the car low because currently its the height of grave digger in the air.
I kinda care about ride quality but i understand that they wont be the best. So what I've Gotten out of the threads..

    Am i missing anything else?

You should just go with Ground Control as they can swap out the springs for the desired lengths/rates. I've tried to piece my own DIY kit together and it's costing damn near the same since I've had to outsource parts from other companies and caused a lot of headaches when things squeak and bind lol.

Other then that, you have the right idea, stay around 275-300 front and around 175-200 rear and the ride quality won't be as nasty as some of the other rates out there and DEFINITELY get the conical top hats, as mine were flat top and wouldn't seat in the front upper strut mount...therefore the strut bearing wasn't doing a DAMN thing and causing a LOT of binding/clunking/alignment issues lol.

I'm currently running 10" #200 rears...but I'd recommend 8" to have a bit more adjustability as my lower spring perch/lock is about 2 turns from the bottom...which gained me around a 2" drop over stock...so around 1/2" of wheel gap on my stock 185/60R14s

    Hope this has helped lol

Summit racing has just about every spring rate available that you need. I recommend a 300F/175R for comfort and strut longetivity. I run 350/275, but I like to get the car loose around corners. A 300 rate all around won't be very good for this car, as most of the weight is in the front.
What you could do is buy ebay sleeves and Summit racing springs, then a set of GR2s. Should be very cost effective. Ksports are going to blow that setup out of the water because of the adjustable dampening and lower strut collar. Wish I could afford em.

Yeah. The info I sent you was just for the fronts. The rear of my car are sprint lowering springs. The rear sits fine, I just needed some help bringing the front down more.

And the 300lb in the front are perfect and very responsive. I'm definitely going to get the egt front sway bar and pro lx rear bar and 3/4 derlin link to finish up my suspension mods.

I have GR-2's on my mx3, I don't think they're all that great. I feel like the Tokico blues are better suited for performance, and anything with adjustable dampening will blow the GR-2 out of the water.

of course k-sports win, but comes with a price. And with the price of the gr2's, they are not bad at all. You can get all 4 for ~200 on rockauto.com. you are going to pay twice that for the blues.

and quite frankly, if you go blues and lowering springs, you might as well save a little more and go gr2's

after years of cars with lowering springs and sleeve/spring jams, I will never buy anything other than actual coilovers again. totally worth the extra money.

I kinda wish someone would take these miata wheels so I can collect the grand from my insurance. I'd slap the steelies and buy some ksports.

Wheels and tires, yes. Took me 2 years to find a good set that wasn't all curb rashed. If these ever get stolen, I prob couldn't find another mint set anyway.

GR2s suck in any application other than OEM replacements.

KSports are... exceedingly cheap for a full-body coilover, so i'm a little confused about this thread in general.

I like mine a lot, but then I don't chase cones so my opinion is probably irrelevant
