    BG chassis Big brake kit

NOT A GROUP BUY JUST AN INTEREST THREAD

On my NEVER ending pursuit for rare parts and performance and realizing the after market boat has sailed YEARS ago I stumbled on a company named CEIKA. Ever heard of them? What you havent? Yeah me neither. ANYWAY. I was browsing there site and seen they will build small 6 pot or normal 4 pot big brakes that fit FIFTEEN yes u heard 15´´ rims for only $890....

So those with mazdaspeed wheels and stockers no longer have to do the CRAZY yet simple LAME 2 pot upgrade with the 323 spindles and probe spindles and all this crazy jazz. The good news is they can make the brakes bigger for those with bigger rims but im sure these will be all you need. They come in ANY color and the look gorgeous. So no need for brembo caliper covers :D

I have talked to the company and asked if they would do a group buy with enough people making the 890 dollar price tag less and them being a new and un heard of company said HELL YEAH.

Im buying mine next month regardless but i just want to see if anyone wants to start a group buy so they are cheaper for everyone. Spread the word tell your mom, dad, uncles, cousins about this so we can get the largest group buy this forum has seen in decades!!!!!

P.S. Here is the product ~~~~~http://ceikaperformance.com/4-pot-Bi...-of-2-p28.html

Very interesting. I pretty much think there's no such thing as too much brake. But this is also one of those areas where thou shalt not scrimp and put cheap sh!t on thy car, just because it has anodized parts in cool colors. Here's a thread on a bimmer forum. I kinda like that the company responded. http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...brake-kit.html

And it appeaers they built one hell of a gt4, http://www.st162.net/forum/showthrea...A-Demo&p=70607

So the owner sounds like a full-on gearhead and is maybe trying to do it right, but I am still suspicious of 4pot calipers coming in at that price point. I'll be keeping an eye out for your review once they're installed and used a bit. I ain't gonna pull the trigger just yet, cuz I can't convince myself that this stuff is going to be as dead nuts reliable as my current hardware. Oh yes and it would be a dealbreaker if they're fulla crap and you can't use Porterfield pads. but they say they have part # for other ferodo and wilwood etc. so maybe...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

I wouldn't necessarily be suspicious of the price, just depends exactly what he's using. I've seen 4pot Miata kits using Wilwood stuff for that price or less.

What size wheels will this fit under?

I would like to see how he will fit something on the BG knuckle with less then a 17" wheel. This is why there are really no kits available for us now, the caliper mounts stick out too far. The few kits that are available are expensive (K-sport) and require 17" wheels. You might fit it under a 16" wheel but not likely.

        Good luck

Almost EVERY car that uses wilwood, k sport, D2 or any ``cheap´´ brand is about that price or even cheaper for other cars because the demand is there....and we consider those top shelf items lol. Everyone i know only would resort to those brands if they were going cheap because they have brembo, stop tech, and endless and big brands like that. They fit 15´´ wheels but you could order a bigger kit but for our light chassis i dont think its necessary to go with a bigger rotor and more pots...

I wouldn't put Wilwood in the same sentence as KSport or D2, but that was the point. The point was that the price of these Ceikas isn't too low to get some quality.

I see they have an application for MX3's and escorts already listed, but I am a little skeptical of it actually being true. If they actually can make a kit that will fit under a 15" wheel I would really love to see how its done.

What size kit are you getting?

a german tuning company called SPS motorsports fit a better bigger brake in a 15´´ rim. I have seen it myself so I know its possible. They wouldnt tell me how they did but charged 1500 EURO for the complete kit THEN they would tell me after I paid. here are some pics but i dont own any of these they´re from there web page

With a money back guarantee im willing to spring for some of these. Im not about going to a junk yard and getting a caliper from this car and a rotor from here and this from there. Thats too much work lol and That all will cost around 500 because i will buy the brake parts new. I would rather shell out another 300 and get this kit. Im getting the gold anodized caliper and 286mm rotor.

Well I will be anxious to see what yours will look like. Perhaps due to a very low profile caliper is how they are getting away with it.

Wonder if the kit will be any lighter then the stock stuff?

Im sure the caliper weighs half as much but the rotor im sure is heavier or as heavey as our OEM rotors. A pound or two would be the most you would lose

I spoke to Ceika about coilovers recently. Everything is made to order, so they don't have anything already made or test proven, so I kind of stopped communicating.

I'd be skeptical of these as well. I don't doubt that they function as brakes but I do doubt if they function well. They also don't look like they would hold up to street use very well. That being said I would love to hear otherwise.

depending on price i think i would buy a set need bigger brakes for the race egt i have been think 5 lug swap then mazdaspeed 6 brakes but then i need a **** done of 5 bolt rims that are 18'' so if i could stay 15'' even 16'' i would be happy

                              Mazdaspeed6 brakes fit behind 17s.

Now my next question is: What exactly are you doing that you "need" big brakes on an EGT?
