Escort gt rear brakes for my 323.

I have a complete rear cross member from a Escort GT. It is in really bad shape LOL. Question: Can I theoretically bolt off my rear drum brake spindles from my 323 and replace them with the Escort GT disc brake spindles? Are all the suspension arms the same length etc. Also just use an Escort GT parking brake cable? The goal is rear disc brake conversion, as the back drums, springs, backing plates etc, ect. are all toast.

Car is my daily driver 323 1.6L
Dominic Toretto rocks a MaZda and his cell phone number starts in "(323)"

I just wish you all the luck with getting the lower spindle bolt out lol, torch and a press are usually required...which fries the bushings in the process! I think rockauto has new arms so you can just get the Escort GT spindles prep'd and then you just swap the spindles and arms into the current subframe.

At least that's what I'd do lol

              UGH.

I'd rather not ever think of that nightmare again. I had to get new hubs/spindles.

ah sick lol, southern cars would be easier to crack those bolts probably...I remember someone went to a auto wreckers and they walked away with just the spindles lol

I torched it, impacted it, used a 3/4" breaker bar with a 6 foot cheater bar, hit it with a 20ton shop press, nothing.

Ended up putting so much force on it i pressed the big washer over the spindle itself, and eventually snapped off the end of the bolt. (That was exciting watching 20tons of force explode.)
