The FSM are nice enough to list the Knee point (switchover point) for the brake proportioning valve. Here is a comparison of all the mazda BG models. I do not have any escort PDF's to compare to.

And to make things simple it seems like the non-gtr 4wd one is the "best" for increased rear balance.
