Thanks. I want to do this as a hobby and maybe grow into a small business. Assuming I can get enough interest, money, etc to do that. I'll obviously have to work with other models if I want to start my own thing, including BJ Proteges and Mazda3. Maybe BG/BF chassis, but there seems to be so many other options out there for those models, for far cheaper than I would have to ask, to make sense.

What a pain that was. I was worried I was going to break or crack it. This will be going with my custom gauges project

u should do what i did. i totally gutted the cluster, covered the entire back area with reflective aluminum tape. then i ran 5 feet of red EL wire behind the gauges, then replaced all the lights with red LED's. then painted my needles red to match. then added some stainless steel gauge bezels i ordered out of europe.

yea, i found two on facebook. there just cell phone pic's though, so there not the greatest. believe me, there alot brighter in person. and there is no uneven spots. i had some when i did just the LED's originally. and thats why i ended up doing the reflective backing, and EL wire also. which totally fixed every issue i had.

That looks pretty good. Not quite what I'm after, though. I'm going to redo the HVAC control overlay, as well. Now I need Adobe Illustrator....

yea. i was trying to copy the stock set up in my mazda6 as much as possible. since the 6 has red lighting, and stainless bezels stock on the fully loaded Grand touring Sport model like i have.
