Practiced plug welding and got the rocker panel on. Most of it isn't pretty, some of it is actually good, it'll hold either way.

    My practice welds.

Slow going on the body work since I can only work on it on weekends. Yesterday I got the welds ground down pretty smooth. Today I worked on the air intake for my '97 and tomorrow my dad and I will be glueing the new quarter panel on the '98.

Got the quarter glued and screwed. Letting it sit overnight to cure. Have to go into work early tomorrow and Wednesday, Then I have Thursday and Friday off and they'll be devoted to getting the '97 prepped for the Adirondack Nationals car meet this weekend.

Tried welding the rear of the panel and ran out of wire. Need to buy a new spool so I can get back at it.

Thanks. I got the rear of the panel welded up, but there's two boards of fourteen foot long drywall leaning against the car so progress has stalled until my parents finish redoing the bedroom.

Got some more work done. Smoothed out the joints with some Bondo and glazing putty. Then seam sealed the tail light pocket and down the back of the quarter panel. Then I sprayed some expanding foam into parts of the rocker and sheel sell that had nothing to weld together and fiberglassed the jack stowage area where the bottom was completely gone. After everything is cured tomorrow I'll clean it up a bit and undercoat the crap out of it. Paint should come fairly soon after that.

Edit: Plans for the night fell through so I went ahead with the undercoating. Used the entire can, haha.

Debated whether or not to leave like that or put color down. Decided on color. Today I'll attempt to get some paint down. I've never used an actual paint gun, I've only ever used spray cans, so another learning experience for me. Going to see a movie tonight so I'm hoping to at least get the color down and if I don't have time tonight, I'll put the clear on tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it down this weekend so I can get it back together and put the '97 away for the winter.

First coat of color. The gun needed some adjusting. I have three coats down now and a fourth should be all I need to finish.
