Thanks for the input, I was told by a forum member here in germany that He had almost no rear brake pressure after the swap. I would have though the same as you said but I will just put it on a brake dyno and find out what happens.

he probably did not bleed the system properly. in the past i've found that the rears take a vacuum bleeder to really draw fluid back.---Has ClubProtege helped you in someway? show your support by Contributing--- Click Here---

Soo, it's done! Finally finished the rear suspension assembly, bled the brakes and took her for a test drive. Happy to report, all is well, the brake engages as it is supposed to which was not the case in the last few years. Inspires much more confidence now...
Since I completely swapped the rear suspension arms and axle, it sould have been silly not to also address the training arms. Due to powde...
I still have to do the front wishbones and then swap all the brakes again for the bigger setup (but certainly not this year). Currently the car gets an alignment so that i can enjoy her a bit more until autumn

Haha, this is actually how the car came from the factory (with a different ground strap at the time). I remember that it was almost rusted off when i got the car back in 2001. However, the replacement OEM mid section still feature the connector terminal and i wanted to go back to original spec. As for the reason, i strongly suspect electrochemical reasons, i.e. corrosion prevention as a motivation. The rear flange always corrodes first and with the stainless back box at an alarming rate. Since the nearest (and only) ground for the exhaust is the engine itself, it makes sense to provide an additional ground near the other end of the exhaust system.
