I got mine done at meineke like a few others here. I just got the axel part replace with bigger pipes, and an otto racing muffler.
    Muffler=$55
    Install at meineke= $120
PS; It' not too loud, and sound descent too.

The stock piping on the 2nd gen BP engine is made of very good material and is fully mandrel bent. The diameter is perfect for automatic BPs and for 5 speeds it allows for comfortable driving and the occassional abuse.

If you go higher than 2" on the stock BP (and no, an aftermarket intake won't make much difference in exhaust needs on the BP) , you will lose low end torque. Loss of low end torque can be very irritating on autos since you can't really rev up before taking off or quickly picking up from low speeds. If you have a 5 speed, then you will still experience torque loss but you can make up for it by launching at higher RPMs during take offs and by shifting to a lower gear for quickly picking up from a cruise.

i have 2 inch mandral bent on my Z5 and did not notice a drop in power at any rpm

it stayed the same at low rpm, and had a nice increase from about 4000- redline

hmmm, see i guess since none of us ever went on a dyno, we dont know how much we actually gained... i mean, the increase that I got was equivalent, if not slightly more than I got with the cold air intake

but they do kind of work with eachother, so im sure the exhaust is helping the intake be a bit more efficient

May be so, but don't forget we don't have headers so that restricts alot of air. Geesh if only ES would list prices and update their page.

a mazdaspeed bolt on muffler costs roughly 170 dollars..

im in the philippines btw, and that's what im using..not that loud, not that expensive..PERFECT for the protege...i used to have a freeflow one by g-spec..it was loud but had a detachable silencer to lessen the noise..

heres a link for the mazdaspeed muffler..
                    mazdaspeed familia

after installing it, i noticed an improvement in engine response at 1-2k rpm and a nice sounding (but not irritating) sporty sound.. nice..

how much would you be able to get that grille that clappy is talking about for?
like, since you're in the phillipeans, how much does that cost you?

That's if you buy it from the dealer.

hmm...i dont know if you guys are interested, but a member of PTP who owns a trucking company also has a fiberglassing area in his truck yard...he sells original mazdaspeed kits and accessories ..he also made replica fibarglass kits..that's where i got my front spoiler..for like, 2500 pesos..divide that by 56 to convert it in dollars..that's about 45 USD..cheap! add shipping into that and i doubt it would reach 100 dollars..

anyways, he also made a very good replica of the gen2.5 mazdaspeed grill...i doubt it would reach 5000 pesos..since its smaller than a front spoiler, it would be easier to ship..
