    What Color Coolant?

Anyone know what color coolant to add to my 98 Protege LX? 1.5L DOHC. I just moved from Cali to Chicago and I gotta get some proper antifreeze in that thing before it freezes. The mechanic didn't know if it was the standard green stuff or the newer orange type and I can't find any info in the manual or online...until I stumbled onto you guys. Hope someone can help.

umm, i really dont think there is a specific type of coolent you need, maybe the new orange one is better but i really dont know, i use the green colored prestone 50/50 antifreeze/coolent and it works great.

Check your owners manual for any specific recommendations.

the difference in the green and orange is the length of time you can drive before you need to do a flush of the radiator, that is all

As long as it's not that red stuff GM likes to use.
