    Oil pump gasket?

I got a new TopLine oil pump and it came with a gasket.

Should I use that gasket or go with the instructions in the FSM and use silicone sealant instead. Or should I use both?

yeah i'd do both. couldn't hurt so long as it doesn't push it to far out.

hmmmm, the 91 FSM shows a gasket being used - no sealant. that's actually what I did yesterday. and from what I've read, it seems that when you can get away with NOT having to use it, the better. so I'd say if you have a gasket, just use that otherwise, be sure to use the sealant where the FSM does say to!! this case is an exception

and be sure to cut away the gasket that protrudes above the surface(as pointed to), being careful not to scratch anthing.
