I just threw a code for idle control malfunction and it was because I tried adjusting the idle screw on the top of the tb. Rpm was dropping and almost stalling before I messed with it. Made an adjustment and no more stall or rough idle but then the code came up. Well went ahead and closed the screw back down and pulled the tb off, cleaned it. In the process of cleaning it I pulled the iac off the bac even though most people say not to do it. As long as you are care is can be done. Much easier to clean the inside. So far no codes have come back up and I let it idle in my garage for about 30 mins with my actron super scanner hooked up to monitor rpm, calc load, iat, and coolant temp. Everything seams normal but will just have to wait to see if Gina tells me that there is a problem again. The rough idle bothers her but if the light comes on she freaks....lmao.

you do realize it takes a certain number of engine cycles for a code to be tripped and the cel to come on...sitting in your driveway probably won't make a code come on.

Yes that is sometimes the case but I managed to trip a couple of codes purposely within a minute or so of making a couple of disconnects and adjustments. Of course cleared the codes and made more adjustments. Gina said the car is running much better already.
