    Intake Question

Ok I installed a new intake on my car and the thick rubber hose on the 1.5 that has the little box hooked to it has a couple of hose on it is givin me problems. I added to it and hooked it to the port on the side of the intake and now the car stalls out right after its started. Does anyone know whats up with it? I then disconnected it and hooked a box that escort91gtx sent me with it and it runs fine. It it possibly that the hose i use to extend it too small causeing it to choke out?

its the idle air... its notorious to stall like that ifyou hook it directly to an intake system thats not running the H box thingy. IDK why but it regulates the air properly.
ask around what ppl did when they installed aftermarket intakes.

And as far as hookin it directly to an intake i dont know if it matters but from the factory it was hooked to the stock tube... I wish i could figure this out cause its pissin me off lol...

and does it matter if its hooked before the mass air flow meter? Cause on my new intake it is before the maf meaning its further away from the tb than the maf is...

Hey Race Reddy, which airfilter did you you use? It looks like you have simply removed the airbox and used a cone type filter and left the rest of the intake stock, is this the case?

I always wanted a intake but never knew how to install it. After i crashed my car, i figured "hey, its already messed up so why not." So i started pullin parts off the car left and right just looking around. I took of the entire intake then took the parts off individually. I took that stock intake box out and reinstalled the intake w/o it. It sat in my driveway for a few days untill my gf bought the filter for me online. Looks like a k&n filter from a distance but its a Matrix Gr Autosport Intake. My original plan was to remove the entire intake and replace everything.. but on limited funds, i had to deal with what i had. I pulled off the box filter, stuck the new filter on and yea.. it fit and its not really giving me any problems.. lol. Im not sure how much power/good its doing, but i can feel a difference in the driving. My gf drove it the other day and said it felt the same... i just looked at her with my mouth open, lolz. Being my daily driver, i drive it everywhere and even with the slights engine modification, i can feel the difference.. eventually i want to change the entire intake, but i figured it could wait just a little longer. (until i get my body kit)
