spec clutch explodes

After installing my spec stage 1 clutch and breaking it in for about 130 miles, me and a friend went out to practice a few launches and after about the tenth 1 the clutch wasnt working and when u pressed it in it would be really easy and felt bumpy. So that night we tore out the engine and this is what we found of the clutch. what do you u think happened? Hopefully there will send me a new one...

there have been several guys having this problem with spec clutches on CVH powered escorts. ive seen a stage two and a stage three do this i believe. from what i remember their customer service was very good in both cases, and they got a replacement without too much hassle.

So do you have any idea why this happens? Is 130 miles enough for breakin? hopefully i get it replaced for free, i ordered it from ultrarev.com

i would say its due to the short break in. full faced clutches should see 200-300 miles of easy use

I believe it is still under warranty so i should be good, but will this just happen again? i sure hope not its a pain. If it was a lack of breaking it in wouldnt it just slip instead of doing this? what is feoa?

lol i know, i have over 2000 posts over there. i just cant seem to find the thread over there about the guy who's spec clutch blew up like this one.

Yes, although i realized today i must have put way more than 130 miles on the clutch i went threw about 20 gallons of gas driving easy on it. that is about what...600 miles if i got 30 mpg, also i did alot of city driving so it should hav had plenty of time to break in.
