96 Auto transmission lever hard to move

My 96 LX sat unmoved for 3 weeks. It started up fine but the Auto transmission lever was extremely difficult moving through P, R, D, 2, 1. I let the car warm up and checked the trans fluid, it was full. Drove the car through local and highway, so far after 30 miles the lever still feels extremely "sticky". The normal click-stops at each position are not felt anymore, I have to rely on the orange indicator to see what gear the lever is at. This has never happened before, is it because the car sat for so long and the trans fluid settled to the bottom? Can I keep driving? Thanks.

i know what ur talking about man, i have a 96 auto as well and usually if it was cold i would have to put sme muscle 2 get out of park... a while back i put a thread about this and i remember someone talking about checking the shift linkage, but thats all i know about this, it still happens sometimes, but the car still drives and shifts normally.
