and you need an automatic wiring harness... i think bruce has one, or part of one up for grabs
and an ecu
and you're in business
at the most, you might have to buy 1 motor mount also
jus remember you need an automatic harness and an automatic ecu
I definitely feel like undertaking THIS project. My father said he'd help and we can do it together - that's a big plus. All I need to find now is a place where I can work on my car for a few days. Is there such a thing as "hobby garages" where they let you go and work on your car for a fee... A friend threw that idea at me but I've never heard of such places. Also, if I get storage(???) will I be able to work on the car in there? I have no clue man... Where do I start looking for a suitable place?
let me ask you something cuz I am confused...
is this ALL I need for the swap?
- BP engine (this might be dumb, but I assume that it doesn't matter if the engine was in a MT or an AT car??)
- BP ECU (is there a difference between the AT and MT??)
- BP engine wiring harness (diff between AT and MT??)
Let's say, in the future, I want to swap the tranny for a manual. Will I need a new ECU and harness? I'm a little confused cuz I thought there's no difference between the ECU in a MT and an AT car, so if you can give me a concrete "No, you MUST use an AT ECU and AT harness now" it will clear things a lot for me.
