What is the oil capacity on the 96 LX 1.5 protege'?

And yes I did use the search option.
I did my first mazda oil change and after reading the owners manual it says with oil filter is 3.7qrts but after I put in almost 4 qrts the oil dipstick shows not full. Is this correct?

i usually put 4 quarts into my 1.5L and reads just find on the dipstick. Are you on a level surface? or given it enough time to get to the bottom?

you pour the oil in, run the car for a bit, let it sit and then check the oil

I changed it this morning. The oil filter is a pain to loosen I had to use my rubber glove to get some grip on my oil filter wrench, after driving to work today, waiting for over 6 hours, going out the car for lunch/dinner it was showing 1 mark down from full, looked like honey of course new oil shows it like that Castrol 10/30. I'll then put in the rest of the 4qrts oil then, thanks!

it is actually a little less than 3.7 quarts. i only put about 3.5 and i am usually right on full.

i use that oil stabilizer **** every oil change, so i'm not EXACTLY sure as to how much it is...i say if your light's not on, u'll be alright haha
