Got low compression readings. Got a leak down tester. so now need step by step on how to do it... specifically how to get the engine to TDC?

So no one knows how to help me? If you askin why I don't jus do a search on it, I did, for a week now... You can go search across this whole forum and no where does it say HOW to get to TDC. Even on the web it does not say how to get to TDC on a 96 protege. even looked in a chilton manual... not there neither...
If you do a search on TDC, all you get is "...just set it to TDC..." posts
Still looking for help... Need to know what tools I need to do this...
