    FROM Randy Stocker,

    about the overbore:
"+2mm is safe (85mm), +3mm can be done but you run the risk of walls becoming oval.http://members.aol.com/FE3N/rods.html. Note, you cannot use the stock head gasket over +1.5mm"

about the pin height change to increase rod length:
"the stock pin height is 1.108". FM pushed it all the way to the max with a bridge holding the oil control ring up. http://www.gvii.net/dlralt/misc_imag...r/Dscn8824.jpg "

so...like i said, and have known for over 3 years now... you cannot get a BP to 2L with just bore. Pretty hard to dispute with the hard numbers.

well lets say you have a stock stroke, and want to gain some rod ratio. you would move the pin hight higher up on the piston, toward the crown and ring land. then you would need to install longer rods so that the original deck hight is maintained. (other wise youre deck would go to ****e)

which requires custom rods... which are beyond the scope of this topic. Try and READ what was written:

"if you where to change the pin height then you can stay with the same lenght of rod. and there for just change the crank."

this will DECREASE rod ratio, if the intent is to go above 2.0L, which was the topic. Therefore, BAD idea, which I already stated.

I agree, you do NOT want to deal with changing deck height. I'm a proponet of using the stock rods and crank when possible. They're plenty strong for the majority of us, if you need a bit more assurance, just put in some ARP rod bolts.
