Are all 1.5L BHA auto trans the same?

I've been looking around for a replacement trans and torque converter for my car ever since it died. A couple of places around me have been advertising '97-'98 model fitment only. My car is a '96. I just want to know if they're compatible between the entire generation.

I know there's some differences under the hood between the post- and pre-facelift cars ('95 and '96 versus '97 and '98). So there might be a difference with the transmissions, but I don't know for sure. Post some pictures of your transmission if you can.
