    swm is seeking petcock

ok im trying to drain the coolant on my 95 1.5 lx

Ive got the orignal owners manual for a 95 protege.

Ive got the chiltons manual which covers um... 6 different models of madas.

The owners manual shows it located on the drivers side of the radiator facing front

    its not there

the chiltons manual says its below a trap door in the splash pad, no such thing

where is the drain plug for the radiator? what way is it facing?

why is it called a petcock?

i dont know if you are looking at your manual correctly but its on the passenger side and if you are looking at the radiator from the front its on bottom left corner of the radiator.

you have to be under the caqr as the fan will most likely block your view of it. in case you were just looking down from the top.

ok thanks ill go back and look. I have a bad feeling about this. I notice the radiator is not firmly in place and I have to look into it.

Its possible I have an aftermarket radiator and its drain is behind the body crossmember. Its possible i missed it though too.

I might have to drain it by just disconnecting the lower radiator hose.

no you don't have an aftermarket radiator.
if anything you have a junkyard radiator ment for a diffrent car.
