Replaced the plastic bushings at the bottom of the shifter with my Bronzeoil ones. Thought they weren't going to fit, but further investigation led to a small knob of metal where the bushing sits. It couldn't have been any bigger than 1mm when I snapped it off. Damn tight clearance there. Trying to get whatever I can done before everything gets in the car.

Yeah, basically. I was able to snap it off with wire cutters

edit: Here's a pic. The old shifter bushings and a ruler for comparison. Okay, maybe it's a little bigger than I thought, but still pretty damn tiny.

Haha, I know! But it made one of the bronzeoil brushing sit at an angle and wouldn't allow me to get the linkage back over it.

                Let's see:

Replaced the front down pipe (pipe from bottom of pre-cat to the main exhaust). Now I can finally replace my rusty oil pan (tomorrow's project).

Replaced all four struts with KYBs.

                Replaced rear sway bar.

                Replaced all four end links.

(actually the KYBs came from a 2000 Protege. Had to replace the end links to make them fit due to the newer Pros having longer end links in the front. Couldn't get my rusty end links off the rear struts so I had to replace the sway bar...took the sway bar off the 2000 as well...rides like a champ now and no more pull to the right like it had due to rusty strut mounts and worn out original struts...I can post a write up if anyone cares).

                Replaced rotten air intake pipe.

is the 2000 bar bigger/stronger/thicker or just a tad longer?

I'll reply to that in the proper forum.

Oil/filter change. MY 95 dx 5 speed was starting to get worse milage, down to 42 mpg. Cleaned up the battery terminals and now all is good. Should get it back up to 47 to 50 mpg.

50mpg!? I'm lucky to get 30. I have an automatic, though. But not for long

Started getting the ring gear rivets out of the stock diff. I'll finish it this week
