Well, I can't confirm the part numbers, but I know this -- the kits that are advertised for 98-2004 Protege's will not work in a 2nd gen car. There is a mistake or something... The 3rd gens supposedly came out in 98 but weren't for sale in the US till 99, so that's where the confusion comes from. Even though your car is a 98, and the kit is advertised as being for a 98 Protege, it will not work.... It is for a 3rd gen Pro. I have not heard of anyone using 3rd gen springs on their 2nd gen.
Sorry man. The Eibach springs were discontinued a looong time ago, and unless you find them used, you aren't getting any. I would recommend the H&R springs in that case. You can check for part numbers here: http://www.wihandyman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27Last edited by Intruder; 03-31-2004, 06:41 PM.

I know of a company that will sell you the H&R springs for $200 (includes shipping). I found them selling H&R springs for Hondas, etc. on ebay and I asked them if they could find the Protege part numbers, and they gave me that price.
Supposedly the H&R springs are of higher quality than Eibach. I've heard people saying that the eibachs sag, etc.
