and your saying I can get small nose pulley from 1.6 miata/1.8 sohc protege/1.8 early 91 escort gt. just to be sure before i go get a 3rd! pulley..



here is a pic that sort of shows my gtr crank snout setup.i never got a pulley with it. if i get it out of storage sometime and mock up the miata pulley i guess i could confirm if its a big nose for you. i think you were waiting for a pic in the other thread or something.

i was hoping maybe the owner of my 91 parts car swapped in a newer big nose motor and i could use this until i find a oem pulley in good shape. cant confirm what ive got in mine til i get a chance to go work on the car maybe this weekend. it looked more like the miata pic ive shown above but im not 100% sure from memory. ill take a few pics when i do it. maybe its early 91 maybe its 93+, cant remember exactly how it looks i should have took pics but it sure wasnt what i posted from that other guys 91 egt.

Ryan we don't have many true "Mazda" BP powered cars in Canada, other than the Protege GT and Miata, Escort GT is all we really have for FWD BP stuff lol.

I've successfully used a 1.6 sohc crank pulley before, any B-series crank pulley will work, just have to match the correct "nose" style.

so everyone agrees then that I can get a small nose/small key pulley/key/cog from 1.6 miata/1.8 sohc protege/1.8 early 91 escort gt. just to be sure before i go get a 3rd! pulley.


found this on car-part.com but the guys dont have the key or the cog, or if it was a sohc or dohc engine.

i have some good news if your interested.

i happen to find a small nose (b8) which is a slightly lighter pulley
only problem is the timing cog itself has a chip out of it (my dumbass mistake)
however, its not detrimental to the engine running. or the belt itself. and the keyway is minty!!
Comes with the crank pulley bolt too

Well after tearing the short 90 degree coupling which connects the throttle body to intercooler piping again, I decided to buy the biggest god damn 90 degree vibrant coupling money can buy and trimmed it to size. Im embarrassed to say what i paid for it. Lets just say too much. Waaaay too much. Damn thing better not tear ever.

also picked up one of those CR3 alum air diversion panels. Hope they ship em out soon I hate waiting on parts from the states.

check pm turns out i have a big nose so i cant use your small noise. I also got that aluminum underdrive pulley from a friend but after reading online I dont think I will be using it for boost so i am back to square one.

just redid my downpipe and added a vibrant flex, new wideband o2 bung, new hangars etc. my DP and intercooler hot pipe still sit waay too low, but it is a bit better than before.

here is the vibrant flex thats now welded in.






Got some new control arms as well as mine are in rough shape.

new exhaust is in but still a bit too low. its hard because the turbo outlet also hangs low and is kinda in the way a bit. at least it was better than before. hopefully good weather will come soon and these will be the last winter mode pics. really wanna lower the car and finish tuning this year.
