just grab a non vvt valve cover and it SHOULD be ok.
well I got my ITBS back from Silex. Unfortuneately his own project car broke down when the trans in his boosted BP wagon died and he had to get another car on the road so he didnt have a chance to do any work on them so I started version 0.2 myself. Decided to try a traditional side entrance plenum to compare it to the center entrance. decided to build it out of fairly thin steel. the design is pretty typical so I am hoping for good results. it is still quite heavy though. wish I had an aluminum welder / skills.
I also finished the engine stand for running the GTR. I also made 2 additional support arms not pictured here. I am starting to build my own wiring harness from scratch as I would like to go for a really minimized and clean engine bay when the GTR goes in so I am having lots of fun cutting up lengths of wires and spending my beer money on proper connectors.

ya its seems like the perfect way to test everything before it goes in. never made a complete wiring harness before and would also like to build the turbo system and test everything im making while its outside the car.
I built a few little "feet" that the stand will be supported by when the engine is running. Otherwise it just has the small wheels for moving it around my garage easily etc.

I just need to minimize the wiring by the 2 fuse boxes. I am debating on just combining them into 1 box to make it look a bit nicer. Im also thinking of hiding the wideband wiring on the left side and the charcoal canister so there is no wiring what so ever on the pass side of the engine bay.
still no turbo on the car. i ended up having to change jobs as my work started bouncing cheques on me and I got my first 2 weeks of pay held at the new place so its been a bit ruff for the MSP lately. The BP05 still pulls like a champ. I estimate it at 110-115whp now that I retuned for 12.2:1 at WOT. My buddies all seem to think it is making at least 150 flywheel as I can pass my buddies integra LS (stock) with ease and my other buddies 2005 Focus 2.3 I can keep up with pretty good, by the end of 3rd he has about 2 or 3 cars on me.
I think Im about 100-150 pounds lighter than a stock MSP right now. (no ac, no PS, smaller capacity rad, no turbo, smaller transmission, smaller axles, no spare tire, no under car brace (sub frame connector?) piece, lighter battery than before, no splash guards, no spare tire, no amp or subs, no carpet in the trunk, no catalytics converters, no heavy cast exhaust manifold, no emission devices of any kind aside from pcv and charcoal canister (both weigh nothing).

on the BP there is only 1 engine mount and it is pictured above. then it has 3 transmission mounts, top front and back.
there is no rear engine mount on a BP engine. because of this I am planning on making a 5th mount that goes from the stock fsde firewall mounting point and attaches to the intake manifold support bracket location on the block. with 5 engine mounts I wont feel bad using the launch control and doing WOT launches. right now I sorta cringe a bit everytime I do a hard launch or flat shift, even with 4 solid mounts.
the front and back attach to the subframe which you will need to fabricate as it is 100% different than the 3rd gen.
the top transmission mount I reused the stock FS part that attaches to the frame, and then took a 1/4 plate, cut out the trans pattern, then welded a piece of metal (actually the same piece I made the engine mount extension from) which connects it to the fs part. Then I took a PS pulley and used that to eliminate any flexing of the mount.
hard to explain if I get a chance i will take a pic.

because the engine tends to move too much for my taste when you are launching or shifting hard etc. its not terrible, but more than I would like.
