Just one method I have for further strengthening the tie bar setup to the existing points that were used to begin with. Idk yet.

jinx. everytime i look at the front mount design now im slightly weary it'll support the torsional forces pulling downwards without cracking the welds off. I know this isn't final design.... but do you have any plans to box the back end of it shut?

i guess i would like to see something connecting the front of the square tube to the very top most edge of the mount just for additional rigidity.

You will just have to wait and see like everyone else I'm not even 100% convinced this is where I'm going with it. I will say that the middle section of the mounting surface is fairly thick c-channel, it's already super rigid as it is. Again this is nowhere near completed LOL Every bit of metal I've been using is well within the oem thicknesses if not thicker for applications as such. I should exceed well beyond the strength of the factory crossmember. I also have no deadline for this build, no rush or pressure.. so I can take as long as I like to play with my options

once it is fully welded the transmission will explode before you make half the power necessary to break that lower mounting point.

the mount will show signs of failing first.

need to finish it before I die of bordem or forget where I put parts of your harness...

that works really well for a couple of reasons:

the part of the mount that sees the highest stress is the bolting surface side of the circle.

the other (tiebar)side of the mount transfers the load into trying to twist that beefy piece of square stock instead of into rubber subframe mounts.

the rubber mount is still an oem easily replaceable piece

much easier to install/remove the motor

I like where you are going with this! I'd say go with this before dog bone, dog bone adds another degree of freedom to the engine rock vibration that isn't there normally in our cars.

I'll be redoing the mid/upper portion of the valance to suit the radiator better. Similar to what I was doing with the Escort.
