that is indeed a tight fit. Have you considered running through the core support for IC piping?
If i had to do it again. i would put a 90° on mine like that out of AL & run it straight through the core/radiator support
Lil late to the party. This was a while ago. It comes out right past the rad on both sides. I haven't had the motor in there to line the ic piping up yet. The coupler is an extra just in case I need it. Most of the BG routed pipe will be gone with this setup. Plan on welding the drivers side to one piece, only using two couplers. Same for passenger side, except it won't need welding.
If I would have known this I would have grabbed the Kia alt from the junkyard when I was there since It was a brand new (rebuilt) unit. I didnt bother to compare if the plugs were the same.

With how I have the mount now, it's sitting almost perfect in the bay. The bracket itself, needs a bit of trimming to angle it a slight bit to make me happy. I'm tempted to shorten the bottom of the mount bracket back to the next bolt hole. Undecided yet.
^ its nice to see someone actually utilizing the OEM bracket piece to brace the downpipe. hardly anyone ever braces the downpipe/exhaust system.
Had it laying around and thought it would be perfect to work into the build. It's beefy and it bolts up.. saving me on fabrication time for something similar. Just trying to think of everything to avoid possible failures. I still need to play with it and work on a method for attachment to the pipe. Something that will allow expansion movement without adding too much strength to where it would cause cracking. Don't worry, I'll still have a flex section after the vband too
