What is the screw for that is on top of the purge solenoid valve? A while ago while doing an oil change my idiot buddy adjusted the screw for some unknown reason. Not immediately after, maybe a month or two, I'm getting a CEL P0455 which I understand this part might have something to do with it. Where should it be set and could this be the reason for the CEL?

Purge Solenoid Valve?

Welcome to the Forum.
Yes, P0455 can indicate a purge solenoid valve malfunction (as well as many other evaporative emission control system problems). When I looked at this component on my car, I saw the screw you mentioned. I'm not so sure it's an adjustment screw, however, because the FSM make no mention of being able to adjust this valve. The only tests for the proper functioning of the valve involve airflow inspection between the two ports and electrical checks for open or short circuit.02 DX Millenium Red - The Penultimate Driving Machine

Thanks for the welcome and the info! What does the FSM say about the testing procedure? When the key is powered on the solenoid clicks. So does that mean it's not stuck open?
I was also looking for the carbon canister to check for bad hoses leading to it or a crack in it itself. Is this located on the passenger side firewall?
Last question, I read somewhere that the intake gasket could be bad. I'm not really leaning towards this as the problem being that the car still has good performance and no abnormal sounds.

The container located on the passenger side firewall to which one hose from the purge solenoid valve is connected is the catch tank. The other hose from the catch tank goes to the charcoal cannister. The other hose from the purge solenoid valve goes to the intake manifold. Check both those hoses for leaks and make sure both hoses are full up against the stopper on the valve.
To check for airflow, remove the valve and connect +12V to terminal A and ground terminal B. This should connect the two ports together so that air can flow between them. With no voltage supplied the ports should be closed. Terminal A is the one on the right of the connector with the tab up when viewed from the terminal side.
To check for open or short circuit, the PCM has to be removed to gain access to the terminals.
