I dont really know. I was looking at the same engine, but its a lil expensive for me at 2995. That is if your talking about the Mental Addiction motor with CP Pistons and ARP Heads and all that good stuff. I'm sure it will have some pretyt good pick up and go, especially after a turbo is installed in it. The low compression pistons are awesome for the turbo I have heard. So it should be pulling some good hp gains. But thats just my opinion. I'm just gonna stick with my Nitrous that came with the car. Plus its a lot less expensive.

The 2.0 is not a bad starting point for an NA build. Remember the jdm version puts down 170hp. You wont get hudge power but it wont be so bad.

We already know that they can break into the 14's with only bolt ons. but youll need a standalone ecu, our are such crap. Then light weight flywheel, new clutch, UDP, new cams (even better now that wagner released his insane gain 26 hp cams), hyper ground, header and exhaust, and cai.

In reality not so much work. Im half way there, this stuff just accumulates over time.

i would not waste money on the udp. Your basic starting point should be 10:1 or higher pistons and a set of aggressive cams. You will need a stand alone to run the car properly and a set of headers and high flow cat to get the backpressure down. Depending on what you want to do with the car you might also add an intake, for autoX and street driving I would leave the stock airbox + K and N so you dont trade away all your low end power. You may need to change the plugs you are running also to accomodate for the increased heat from the increased compression.

                      stock airbox blows....

i swapped my ****ty airbox for a cone filter and the difference in the midrange / top end is night and day compared to the horrible stock crap

The wagner cams did not make 26whp alone. They were also installed with a catless midpipe and cam gears. His dyno's for some reason always look suspect. I was a big wagner supporter until he screwed me over several times and then lied about me.

the cams are ok I guess but don't think that you wont need to fully re-shim everything to keep them from tapping like hell. Id think you could buy new billits and have a local speed shop grind you out some cams for less money and be better off.

I am building a 350hp turbo 2.0 motor. That is if my turbo (GT28BB) can keep up. I have forged pistons and rods. Crank bolts connecting brace, All arp bolts. Bored 20 over just for a new surface for the new pistons. And a fully ported and polished head and exhaust manifold.
Don't just drive it! Customize it!

believe me, get a bigger turbo. we're trying to crank that much out of a built FS with a t3 super 60 (almost identical maps to a GT28rs), and it's just not enought turbo. These motors are just not built for that kinda boost. you need some serious head work, ported and polished everything, log-style intake manifold, full 3" exhuast, standalone fuel and spark management, o and new valves and some SERIOUS cams. good luck to you! hopefully you'll be able to crank out some more than we're getting, cause we're rather dissappointed.
