    HO Alternators?

    Hey, anyone know whats the biggest alternator that will go on our 3'rd gen proteges? Im planning on running some massive electrical projects, so i want the biggest alternator i can get to keep the battery up and running, someone said try a MPV one? any other ideas, Looking for like a 160 - 200+ watter?

    Im pretty sure we can only get the stockers rewound. We cannot take off the stocker becuase we have some elaborate voltage stabilization stuff going on if we try to take off the stock the car goes crazy.

      Well whats the max you can get out of the stock alternator then?

        90 amps so thats some 1200 watts, avrege. You can of course use more iff you have a loud system you can always throw in a large cap ( batcap) or extra battery. Most systems dont use nearly there peak numbers.
