ya i have been giving serious thought about switching my auto trans in my 2000 Mazda Protege ES (1.8L) to a stick shift. Can anybody give some info about this like how much it would cost or how much labor is involved, and all that other good stuff.

labor's gonna be fun. the tranny shouldn't cost more than a grand from a junker. just replace the fluid and run with it. throw it up on a lift, pull the auto, slap in the manual, grab a wiring harness and stuff from mazda comp (mazdamotorsports.com), and run with it!Originally posted by Spike25
