I have been using 10w 30 .. and intend to use it in the new 1.8 also ..
I have no problems. our cars always make noise

hehe, i do, but depending on the noise, i'll change it sooner usually somewhere between 2,500 and 4,000 miles on full synthetic.

The manual recommends 10W30 or 5W30 depending on climate.
