My sunroof won't close, it's stuck tilted open. If I press the open button it clicks (i think that is normal since it is open already), if I press the close button it makes a buzzing/beeping noise. When I take the keys out of the ignition it makes the same beeping noise. I'm guessing because it auto closes? I've hardly ever used it, so not sure.
At this point, I'm not concerned with it working, I just want it closed to prevent leaking. I read in some other thread that there is a hex nut you can turn to manually close it. I looked all over and couldn't find it. I even peeled back the headliner. No luck.
I have a 2001 ES. Was the manual option only on earlier models? Any ideas on what could be wrong? Motor seems to be working. This all happened when I was trying to move a toy box. That might have gotten jammed against the sunroof switch. I noticed that five minutes later, and realized it wouldn't close.
