Car hit 170,000 not too long ago- got my front wheel bearings changed, replaced both tie-rod ends, replaced the front right control arm, and put a strut tower bar from a p5 on the car while it was in the garage.

We've got a full MSP suspension set up now... minus the rear sub-frame. Now looking for some MSP wheels, then that's probably as good as my car will ever get

goodridge stainless steel brake lines yesterday. could only jack up 1 wheel at a time which took all day (with lunch breaks, and bleeding). plus messed with the friggin abs sensor cuz it was giving me a light, cleaned the sensor but it still gives me a light. the brakes feel firm when its parked. great i thought, but on the road they felt the same as rubber hoses. maybe i need to bleed more air out. it was a pain as no matter how much i bleed, fluid was clean but there was tiny bubbles. i think i put valvoline in the green with as much brake fluid ive dumped into the car. oh and bled my clutch while i was at it, fluid was dark and there is black sediment at the bottom of the catch container. what is that about?

not sure why. but the clutch usually always has dirty fluid/contaminants in it.

new rear ABS sensor installed. took my chances with a drum brake ABS sensor, since the folks at TOProtege.com verified that it would fit. well...the cable is a perfect fit from the harness up until the sensor. the angle the cable comes out of the ABS sensor is different BUT there are no clearance issues

the damn fit is tight. had to hammer away until the sensor went into the hole. there is a plastic jacket surrounding the ABS sensor. this causes a snug/near-impossible fit. i'm sure the plastic jacket is fubar now. cleared the ABS DTC so we'll see if this fixes the ABS light. my biggest fear is a bad wheel bearing causing the ABS light.

my car was on ramps as i tried to track down a leak (puddle where i park my car at night). didnt find the leak, but as soon as i got my car off the ramps and started driving, if i put my foot on the gas and tried to accel. it would shake and shudder violently. i could coast the rest of way back w/o any shaking. the MIL was blinking about at a rate of 1 blink/sec.

i pulled 2 codes, P0660 (intake manifold tuning valve control circuit/open bank 1) and P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). cylinder 2 had a fouled spark plug. the other 3 cylinders looked ok.

under the hood, i tested for resistance on the solenoid connected to the green plug and got 40 ohms, for the solenoid connected to the white plug and i got no reading.

new coils, wires, are on the way. will address the solenoid later

I yelled at mine today, this protege just doesn't want to have low beams.

^ on that note. which is power/ground on the low beams for these POS's

                  H7's was a **** choice bulb i tell ya.
the FSM i have is missing the majority of the electrical. Id like to fix my fogs to operate with either high/low beam. And to have the lows stay on with the high beam.

Just recieved a double din dvd deck as a black friday/belated birthday present.

Pulled the stock stereo to find that there is nothing to bolt/clip it too. Tried to find a bracket/sleeve to somehow mount in there. No one has anything? Da hell is going on here?

                              New Battery

Replaced my old Exide Orbital AGM battery with a new Exide Edge AGM battery. After a little more than seven years of faithful service, it was heading for the last roundup - that big pool of electrolyte in the sky up there in Battery Heaven. It's always tough saying good-bye to an old friend.

While I was at it, I also lubricated my locks with graphite.

Now my car is back on the line ready for its next mission.

                              Happy Motoring!
