What about maintenance later on?
I am also interested in buying a 2002 Protege. The deal I am getting is a fully loaded white Protege5 with leather interior, polished 16" rims, moonroof, abs, tinted glass and only 12k miles for $14k. Is it good?
I am thinking this protege'5 is a discontinued model. When I go out to sell this car after 4 - 5 years, the resale probably will not be that good because of it being a discontinued model. What do you people think? Does anyone know if Mazda3 is a new car or just a new name for Proteges?
Thanks,
Ali

love my P5, and my girlfriend does too, somuch so that she just bought one for herself. No ral problems or issues to speak of...
As far as the 3, yes it's entirely different. Mazda 3s are Ford Focus's now.just re-bodied. Not that it's a bad, thing as the focus is a very solid thouroughly enginered car, but it's not a REAL mazda anymore.
