    found 1 rattle, mevotech "quality."

crawled under my car after hearing weeks of rattling from what i thought was my scissor jack rattling in my trunk. after i removed the scissor jack and drove around the sound was still there. finally got a good look and found this:

Right side (passenger) Mevotech MK80868 anti-sway bar end link snapped on me. had them on the car since 2012, not sure when it snapped because it might've happened a while ago and only now is the rattle loud enough to annoy me. i'm going to get a replacement under warranty, should i replace both end links at the same time? should i even bother with Mevotech again? I have their front end links which are much beefier and resemble the Moog Mazda Tribute front end links, and that has been holding up well so far (knock on wood).

After several years of service, the right side rear stabilizer bar control link recently broke. Since I have the complete MSP suspension fitted to my car I replaced it with the OEM MSP part. At the same time I replaced the left side link on the theory that it would probably shortly fail also. I also bought new OEM nuts to ease installation.

3+ years isn't bad for those type of drop links in the application.

I'd throw the same brand on again.

Also lol at imgur, this isn't reddit.

Actually, the MSP control link that recently broke (last June of this year) lasted in my car for a little more than 10 years before failure.

I wrote about the original installation of the MSP rear stabilizer bar and crossmember here:

these Mevotechs replaced the original equipment after those failed on me as well. it's not like i'm tracking the car or driving like vin diesel.

i'm looking at ENERGY SUSPENSION 9.8172 universal end links as possible replacements

Maybe these control links and their bushings, at least as implemented in the Protégé, are normal wear items and will ultimately fail in service regardless of the brand employed? Just a thought and, of course, I could be wrong.

So far my front links are still going strong.

Right, but that's an OEM part. Which were built to exceed a 5 year lifespan because that was the standard warranty at the time. Aftermarket drop links aren't designed with that extensive warranty period in mind.
A set of aftermarket drop links will run about $20 while a set of OEM ones would be more than double that. If you never intend to test other components OEM isn't a bad way to go but it will make you feel locked into keeping them.

I hadn't thought about it that way but I'm sure you're right. The two replacement OEM MSP stabilizer links cost me $73.78 excluding sales tax.
