alright well heres the catch... the motor blew the gasket
i decided to get a gtx cause i always wanted one..
so the whole head wouldnt include the expensive headgasket ( i priced one out @ 400CDN)
but....
i also have another EGT with a complete engine... it ran yes..
is it alot of work to take the damn head off or what?
and since the shipping might be expensive i will let the heavier **** go for cheaper
sorry i dont really know what these are worth, but i was sure i had seen them for sale for around 150US
we will work it out from there...
btw since you two both want the head so bad... remember i have two heads...
one however is still in the engine (engine in the parts car)
if one of you (whoever doesnt get this head..) would be kind enough to tell me if taking the head off is hard...
cause i would be glad to help you out and sell you my head
numba is 150US
tell me what u think
I'll pass, but i'll be back to duel again!!.... LOL
basically, remove anything that is attached to the head, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, distributor, hoses, timing belt, etc. remove the valve cover, the shinny nuts on top. then there are, IIRC, 10 head bolts. There is a sequence so, you may want to get a haynes manual or have somebody scan the pages for you (i don't have a scanner) then just wiggle it off the block.
i just came to idea that im gonna bag my car isntead of going for performance unless you want to sell it for lik 50 bucks shipped lol. Yes we shall duel again but until next time......
i've shipped a bp head from maryland to WA state for about 35 dollars UPS ground.
And your head isn't worth much more than 50 dollars. If you blew the head gasket, the head may be warped and require a decking before it is useable again. This costs plenty of money at a machine shop.
The head bolt order is
3 7 5 1
4 8 6 2
I can't remember if there is 8 or 10 if there is ten than it goes
3 7 9 5 1
4 8 10 6 2
If you take it off loosen them in three "3" interveles. If you take the bolts out all at once you can warp the head.
