Drop-in Exhintake kit (cut cam with drilled gear)

I originally made this for a guy on miata.net, but he kept on saying "next week" until he eventually stopped responding completely... Kit consists of an exhaust cam with the distributor drive cut off and a cam gear that has a new dowel pin hole drilled at exactly 197.5° clockwise past the 'I' slot. Hole was drilled with the aid of a CNC mill so everything fits together perfectly. $71 shipped

Yes, it's direct drop in. I think it was Gen1GT who came up with the 197.5° while tuning on a dyno with an adjustable cam gear. Obviously each car is slightly different and the 'right' way to do it is exactly that, adjustable cam gear on the dyno, but this will get you very close much cheaper. There is a super long thread on miata.net here and a cp sticky here. I believe Gen1GT made 8whp and Ryan (bpt323) made 10whp.

Hah, I am not sure I would classify this as being cool. I guy asked for it and I offered to do it since I could. I might possibly be making intake manifolds in the future, would that interest you? lol

Yes, if I supply the cam/gear it's $71 shipped. If you supply the cam/gear, I'll do it for $41 shipped.

                        Thanks,

What about a kit for a turbo motor? I already have turbo cams, I would just need the n/a cam and the drilled gear.

I am not familiar with doing the exhintake swap on a turbo motor. Do you mean it still uses a cut n/a exhaust cam but just needs a different angle? I can drill the cam gear at any angle you want. I just know that the optimum angle that Gen1GT came up with was 197.5° and that's what everyone not using an adjustable gear/dyno tuning is going with (at least for n/a applications).

I'm honestly not sure. I know I've seen somewhere on this site where someone (Ryan?) did the exhintake swap using (I think) a turbo exhaust cam and an n/a exhaust cam.
