Time for the annual Nyloil shifter bushing kit! (Fits all stock and aftermarket shifters)
Those bushings are to replace the stock soft rubber peices that make the shifter feel rubbery. Nyloil is a variety of nylon impregnated with oil so they are self lubricated. (Note that they don't feel oily in your hand unless you hold 'em for a while).
My Nyloil shifter bushings will eliminate some of the excess play and rubber feeling in your shifter. Shifts will go in easier and are more precise. The shifter might vibrate a little more too but no one ever complained. It's always about compromise eh?
Installation notes:
1- WHEN JACKING YOUR CAR, USE THE CORRECT FLOOR JACK AND STANDS!! PLEASE DO IT SAFELY!!!!
2- Put the bushings in the freezer at least the day before. Get 'em out only when you're ready to put 'em in. This will ease the installation.
3- DON'T OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLT AT THE BASE OF THE SHIFTER!! Adjust the bolt tension until the shifter feels tight (or loose) the way you like it by trying it in the car. So don't remove your floor jack until the shifter feel right for you. The ****fter might take some loose after a week or two so either you thighten a little more at first or you re-adjust later.
4- On BGs and BHs, you will have to re-use the steel sleeve for the front bigger bushings. See pic:
