TBH, if the 28 spline holds up under testing, the 26 spline will as well as it's virtually the same thing. We only really need to test the fitment of the 26

I would offer to test it, but my car is down till April, and I have never installed one before so I don't think I am the most qualified.

Okay so I just read your post near the beginning of this thread Jon that says you need to reuse your own ring gear. Is there any place that sells a new ring gear for the g-series 26 spline trannys? I figure if Im gonna build a bullet proof tranny, I may as well get a new ring gear..

                    Thanks.

I am pretty sure that they are not sold separately from the diffs as they are riveted on.

                          Snow? What is that?

The dragstrip is open year-round here. And I can go to either Sears Point (Infineon) or Sacramento Raceway, both of which are NHRA tracks.

For the ring gear, you would have to reuse your old one.

Alternatively, if you drive a 3rd Gen Protege, you could swap out for one of our new Final Drives (4.687 & 4.933 available. MSRP is $549.95)

After speaking with the engineer, we have to make new tooling (i.e dies) for the housings, so eta for the prototype is around mid-late Dec.

you're better off reusing your old ring gear anyway since as they wear the ring gear will take a set to the pinion gear. swapping to a different ring gear or even a brand new ring gear can result in issues (or so ive heard).

thanks for the update stephen. unforunately that puts us right in the middle of winter here. luckily, as he said above, dan will be able to do plenty of racing all winter long ....
